Monsanto and FDA

Michael Taylor is a lawyer who was appointed to the new position of Deputy Commissioner for Foods at the FDA on January 13, 2012. His career is a good example of the systematic confusion of public and private interests. In this case, government and universities on one side ( University of Maryland and George Washington University School of Public Health), and large firms on the other: Monsanto and the law firm representing its interests. So in fact only one side: money making and power grabbing. See his curriculum on the wikipedia.
Thanks to him, enormous private interests try to look like lovers of humanity. Without these new proprietary bio-engineering techniques, they argue, hunger cannot be eradicated. GM products, total control on seed lines, hormonal manipulations (bovine growth hormone), and systematic use of antibiotics in cattle? It’s because we love you.
