Urgent. Just found out that the Occupy Wall Street protesters are being evicted from Zuccotti Park at 7am tomorrow morning. Mayor Bloomberg is sending in the police to clear the park so it can be “cleaned” and is imposing new rules that won’t allow protesters to
continue to occupy the park. The protesters have been standing up against corporate-based social destruction on Wall Street and the corporate takeover of US democracy. Please sign a petition to
Mayor Bloomberg to keep him from evicting the protesters. **Use this
link**.
BTW, notice how deafeningly quiet US papers and media are about the movement, its motives and goals, the breadth of its support, etc. etc. etc.?
But one can find voices explaining what the movement is about and defending it. See Jonathan Cole’s short article, **Occupy Wall Street as the Conscience of America**. It was also part of a message of support sent by **UC Faculty Associations**, which I signed this morning (451 signatures as of today at 3pm).
